MACAO -- The China International Medical Emergency Team (Macao) returned to Macao on Friday after a 14-day emergency medical mission in quake-striken Myanmar.

During their stay in Myanmar, the medical team members held multiple working meetings with Myanmar's Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization (WHO)'s Myanmar office, and other relevant institutions.

According to the Macao Health Bureau, the discussions focused on medical relief efforts in disaster-stricken areas, public health responses, and cooperation in epidemic prevention.

At the invitation of the WHO, the medical team departed for Myanmar on April 24 to carry out a mission focused on post-earthquake emergency medical coordination and technical support.

On March 28, a 7.9-magnitude earthquake hit Myanmar, which has caused mass destruction and killed 3,835 people as of May 1.
